Physical Demands Analysis

Karey gets a fit test for respirator at local industry.

A Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) quantitatively documents the physical demands of a particular job.  A therapist visits the job site and reviews a job description, observes the job being completed taking measurements and weighing equipment and when possible, actually performs the job in question.  The allows an objective report to be generated outlining the exact physical demands of the job.

This information is crucial for designing a rehabilitation program such as work conditioning and an easeback program.  The information may also be used when determining whether a client is physically suitable to work in a specific job.

The report is not client specific and therefore the employer may use the report for other workers.  The report can also include recommendations for lowering injury risk of the job being reviewed.
