Company Profile
Health At Work Inc. was a private Occupational Therapy clinic whose doors were first opened in St. John's, Newfoundland in 1999. Karey Rushton-Fleming, Occupational Therapist and president, graduated from Dalhousie University to begin her career in 1994 working in hospital, community and private practice settings before venturing into the business herself. Newfoundland provided an excellent opportunity to show what occupational therapy could offer in the private sector and allowed Karey to gain experience in a variety of fields. Health At Work's head office opened in Karey's hometown of New Glasgow in April of 2000 running the financial and administration of both clinics. As the New Glasgow clinic became too busy to allow time to focus on both clinics, the NF clinic was closed in October 2001. The goal is to open other clinics throughout Nova Scotia and expand the profession.
Health at Work Inc. has recently changed its name and logo in order to broaden the community understanding of the services offered. Now HealthWorks Inc., the focus is drawn more toward health and wellness versus just workplace services.
We care about our clients and individual situations and are very satisfied with the results we have accomplished since opening. All of our staff believe that we are health care providers first and a business second. We believe that the two philosophies can work well together for the benefit of the client.
